Miniprotesting FAQ’s
-Why no hyphen in miniprotesting? Branding. It needs to be popularized as a complete idea.
-Why is each miniprotest group four people? It optimizes the visual impact. Too few and it looks random. Too many and it loses its focus. And no permits would be needed for groups this small.
-I have something I want to say, but I don’t have enough people. How do I get more? Contact your local Democratic party organizers and post on their message boards. Same goes for other progressive organizations with a regional base. You can even post it on the regional politics section of Craigslist, although that may put trolls into play, non-physical and perhaps physical
-How do I come up with my main sign sets? Use the Inscription Suggestions as a start. If you’ve got one liner slogan, you can lead up to it starting the the “GOP = FF....” format. And there are plenty of closing lines on that page too.
-Where should I do my miniprotests? The best spots are one-way streets with minimal foot traffic that lead to natural bottlenecks like freeway and bridge onramps. Outbound commute hours are best, particularly if it takes at least one light cycle with the signals per block. Miniprotesting main sign inscriptions are meant to be consumed in more than a glance. If you have no commute bottlenecks in your locale, successions of stop signs work as well.
